We have developed a new dynamic content delivery system. Its currently being used to display advertising on Smaps. Eg. If you look at Queen St in Auckland. You’ll find a lot of ASB, National Bank and the Warehouse icons showing on the map. Move around or zoom in on the map and it’ll dynamically update the points.

We’ve been busy in the last couple of days working on our Gold Awards promotional video. We’ve managed to secure Aston FiacĂ©, renowned Wellington socialite and media promotions expert to direct our promotional film.

For our film, we decided to make the clip in the form of a movie trailer (even with our own ratings screen.) We have drawn influences from a number of great movies, Rocky, Reservoir Dogs, and the Matrix. Within 24 hours we were able to come up with some remarkable ideas. We’ll be releasing the video out on youtube closer to the event. In the mean time I’ll leave you with a quote from our director.

“…Making a movie using iMovie is like building a beautifully designed house but with mud, a spoon and a rusty pitchfork!” - Aston FiacĂ©

Spotted this on slashdot this morning, Indian Govt is proposing free 2Mb broadband to ALL of India by 2009.

India is working on a broadband future, what about NZ?

Read / Write web has just interviewed Chris Di Bona. He talks about the new Google Summer of Code and open source.

Joel Spolsky has provided some wisdom on hiring the top 1%.

My theory is that the best way is to find them (the top 1%)before they realize there is a job market–back when they’re still in college.

Joel has hit the nail on the head and re-iterates the driving philosophy behind the Summer of Code. Get smart coders into smart start-up companies.

Hmmm. Now that one of the secrets is out, we’ll have to try harder… (Summer of Code 2.0 is coming)
